Background |
Bunker Hill Covered Bridge was the only remaining covered bridge in North Carolina. It is located near US 70 between Catawba and Claremont in Catawba County.
The other surviving covered bridge was at Pisgah in Randolph County.
It was washed away, but has now been rebuilt using as much material that could be salvaged from the original bridge.
I have lived near both bridges.
