Paris Tours

June 20, 2024

We boarded a boat for a tour on the Seine. We went under the iconic bridges and saw many of the same buildings from their other side, such as the Grand Palais.

The oldest bridge in Paris is called, of course, the Pont Neuf (new bridge). It connects both banks of the river with the west end of the Île de la Cité, the island in the river, site of the original settlement. Notre Dame Cathedral is on the island.

There are better views from the river of the construction work at Notre Dame than you can see from the land side.

Following the boat tour we were on our own for supper. The meal must not have been memorable, because I don't remember it. Then the bus took us to Eglise de la Madeleine for our rehearsal and then our final concert of the trip.
