Chinese Lantern Festival

My friend and neighbor Joan Vogen and her family celebrated her recent birthday by a Sunday evening trip to Belmont to see the special Chinese lantern exhibit, and she invited me along. Besides the good company and scenic exhibits, the trip gave me a chance to learn to use my new camera under difficult lighting situations. We arrived in daylight and headed first to the orchid house.
Back outside we saw the china elephants: elephants made of plates, cups, and saucers.
