Maymont

When I was in Richmond for the January 7, 2015, VCU game, Ted and I took a tour of the Dooley manion called Maymont, which was left to the city after the couple's deaths. It was too windy and cold to tour the extensive grounds. During the tour the guide said it was OK to take pictures, so I snapped a few with my iPhone as I listened.
Our guide celebrated his 97th birthday on June 21, 2015.

Furnishings in Maymont include some from the Dooleys' summer home called Swannanoa. The swan theme is most obvious in this bed.

The spiraled ivory tusks that make the framework for the dressing table and chair come from narwhales.
