Barcelona, Spain

We got to the airport in Porto in plenty of time for our flight to Barcelona, but storms in Barcelona messed up schedules and our flight was rescheduled for nine hours later. So we hung around the airport and then eventually saw the people getting soaking wet getting off the plane. By the time we were boarding, the rain had slacked off. I had on my waterproof jacket, so I didn't get too wet going across the tarmack to the plane and climbing the steps. Of course we missed the late afternoon we thought we would have for general sightseeing, so our full day in Barcelona we about it. It was a full day indeed with the Picasso Museum, Sagrada Familia, and a concert. The Picasso Museum is housed in five adjoining medieval palaces, so the building is worth seeing for its own sake.

I was surprised to see pottery among the collection. As for paintings, we didn't see much of anything from the Blue Period, which are supposed to be housed there somewhere. I took pictures of just a few representive paintings.
