Rhine River Cruise
April 24–May 7, 2026
For our spring trip, Mary Jane Winter and I took a Rhine River cruise on AmaWaterways' ship the Ama Sophia. We started with a couple days in Amsterdam. The cruise ended in Basel, and from there we spent a few days riding trains in Switzerland. The blue highlight on the map indicates our route on the ship. The gray lines from Basel and Zürich suggest our rail trips.
I took fewer pictures than I usually do on my travels. I emphasized experiencing the trip more than documenting it. I also realized that it is hard to make good pictures from a moving train. I have posted some pictures to give you a taste of what we saw on this wonderful trip.
