Butchart Gardens, July 30, 2010

Butchart Gardens were begun in 1907 with a Japanese garden. Then as sections of Robert Butchart's limestone quarry was depleted. His wife Jennie had topsoil brought in to transform the quarry into a sunken garden, and more sections were added over the years.

I made 255 pictures there, and could have easily made more. Here are a few of them. They are no substitute for seeing the gardens in person.

We got back on the bus and saw scenic countryside on the way to Victoria. The bus delivered us to our hotels. I had two nights left in Canada.
