North Cape tour, Norway
June 8, 2025
We docked at Honningsvåg and boarded buses for a tour to the North Cape, the northernmost point of mainland Norway, except for another one.
And of course you do not see the Northern Lights when it does not get dark.
“Midnight Sun Wall,” the top stone says in Norwegian. People’s names are on some of the bricks.
People leave stones with their names on them.
The Visitors Center
There is a chapel in the visitors’ center.
There is a kind of multimedia experience that was worth viewing.

Back on the bus, I couldn't get a good picture of the white reindeer.
Mary Jane got a better picture of them.
She also took a photo of reindeer as we saw them on the ship.
I think this picture is of the Sámi settlement for when the reindeer are on this side of the fjord.
As we got back to the ship we could see a more typical cruise ship, much larger than ours.
For my final akvavit tasting, I asked for the most expensive one they had. The Gilde was aged 12 years and was maybe a bit more refined than the ones I had before. $12 came out of my onboard credit. The bartender said it would cost $19 at a bar on land. (No discount for a member of the Ne Ultra Society, though.)
