Pictures from the Return Trip
The Crescent leaves New Orleans just after 7 am. Union Station is west of downtown, so you travel through the northern part of the city, pass the lakeside airport, and then ride for a good while beside Lake Ponchartrain. In the lake are the remains of many docks. As we traveled through the Deep South, I took a few pictures of some other trains we passed along the way, not all of which appeared functional.
