Remembering the Fiftieth Anniversary

On June 29, 1991, Paul and Ruth Lee celebrated their fiftieth anniversary with a ceremony and reception at their church. They renewed their wedding vows. Their son Steve officiated. This presented him with several difficulties. The first was in calling his parents by their first names, but he figured that that sounded better than his saying, "Mother, do you take Daddy to be your wedded husband?"

The vows themselves were not that much of a problem, until he got to the part that says "till death do us part," and it became all to real for him.

The reception was attended by five generations of relatives and many friends from near and far. Steve's parishioners at Hoey Memorial United Methodist Church took care of the reception. Many thanks to them and to the people at Hoyle Memorial UMC where the anniversary celebration was held.
